Magic And Alchemy: The Transmutation of Self
What if you believed you could change in an instant?
What if you could heal yourself with just a thought?
What if your identity is just a belief? A story you tell yourself?
I get it. It’s scary to let go of who you think you are. If you don’t have your identity, then do you even exist?
As humans, sometimes we believe we are a certain way and we have our blinders on to the fact that we always have a choice to change the beliefs that no longer fit into our lives. We outgrow beliefs in the same way we do people, places and situations.
It has been proven over and over that our brains and bodies will look for evidence of whatever we think is true. This is how our beliefs become our reality. That’s why it’s so important to look at our beliefs and decide if we still want to create that reality.
Is the person you are now the person you want to be? What things do you tell yourself that limits your potential?
What limiting beliefs do you currently have about yourself — and are you willing to challenge those beliefs?
What is Spiritual Alchemy?
Spiritual alchemy is all about discovering oneself; about uncovering the truth. The truth about the soul, the Universe, and nature.
This is a process of unfolding and it happens in several stages. Some might call this a spiritual awakening or initiation. The result of this process is the meeting between matter and spirit and the understanding that the inner world and the outer world are not different, but reflections of each other. (“As above so below; as within so without.”)
This process begins with the conscious mind releasing control and allowing the resurfacing of the parts of ourselves that were hidden, in order to review that material and decide what to separate or integrate. Ultimately, there is the merging of the unconscious and the conscious aspects of the self to a single essence — allowing the true self to emerge.
A magician, to me, isn’t someone who can manifest material things — that part is easy. A magician is an alchemist; and magic is the transmutation of self.
The Transmutation of Self
The word “transmute” means “to change from one nature, form, or substance, into another.” To me, the transmutation of self is the dissolution of who we thought we once were (based on our conditioning from childhood, our wounds, and what society told us to believe) and the creation of a new self — one that mirrors the life we want to create and one that aligns with our soul.
I’ve experienced this in my own life and it gives me chills when I think about the power we hold. Once I realized what it actually meant to be a magician, I learned what true freedom feels like.
If this resonates with you and you want to learn more, I have created an online course all about the transformation of the self. Join us if you’re looking to reconnect to your inner wisdom, find clarity, and release what’s been holding you back from true freedom.
Our online course includes guided meditation, breathwork and written exercises to help you change habits at a deep level, release stuck emotions, and become aware of your self-sabotaging subconscious beliefs. You can find out more at The Unfolding Retreat.
